Discover Folk Detroit
+ A Cozy Corner in Corktown

Good morning! ❤️ I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
I am so pleased to share this gem in Corktown with you. Folk Detroit has everything you can ever want in a cafe, market, or coffee shop. I had the pleasure of stopping into Folk last Friday, and it was perfect. They had cookbooks ranging from Claire Saffitz's fantastic dessert cookbook What's For Dessert to Molly Baz's More Is More cookbook. The shop/cafe is a perfect spot to sip your coffee, and the patio is set up perfectly for a beautiful, fulfilling breakfast/lunch that will make you want more. Folk is a lovely spot to pick up any last-minute olive oil, chili crisp, or matcha. They even have an incredible array of cards if you want something sentimental and different to give to a loved one or friend.
I love Folk for many reasons, and although I have only been there once, I plan to visit and eat more. Folk Detroit genuinely reminded me of Spencer, the wine bar/restaurant in Ann Arbor. Folk had an excellent selection of niche wines and their cocktails. If you are in town or plan to visit, I highly recommend Folk Detroit. They are right next to Mink, an excellent seafood restaurant that focuses on a seafood fair and is owned and operated by the one and only Chef Sarah Welch and her husband. Indeed, it is a dynamic duo. I can make another post on Mink another time. It is a place I have yet to visit but a place I already highly value based on its quality, customer experience, and connection to the city.
Folk offers a cozy yet lively brunch experience. There's a small bar at the front of the café where you can enjoy breakfast. Inside are four small tables close to each other, perfect for conversing with your companions or other customers. Additionally, there are two tables near the front windows, allowing for people-watching, and a spacious patio for enjoying breakfast, brunch, or lunch. In addition to seating, a lovely little shop is located next to the bar and counter. As mentioned, Folk also offers various items for purchase that you can take home, use, and repurpose.
If you are in town, check out Folk Detroit and enjoy the environment you are engulfed in when you step foot into their cozy nook on the corner of Trumbull and Bagley.
Have an excellent day. I’ll talk to you soon.
