Learning From Our Mistakes

Highlighting What Brings Us Together

Good morning! ❤️

New setup for the newsletter!

I would also like to comment on the spike in interest in Pass Me A Plate and welcome the six new members. I hope you enjoy reading!

I hope you’re having a wonderful week! I am preemptively writing this post on Sunday because I feel it is long overdue, and I would love to share what I have learned from myself and some knowledge I can pass on to you as you continue to read this post.

In two years, I have learned from many of my mistakes, and it feels incredible to say that I have grown immensely, not just within myself but also within my relationships with my friends and family. I have found out what I enjoy doing and who I enjoy being around, and I can somewhat see myself and what my future looks like based on my career, and I love it. Pass Me A Plate has grown immensely from almost a year ago… Can you believe Pass Me A Plate will be 1 in September? Because I cannot fathom it. Mind-blowing truthfully. I have watched my writing grow, and although it is not what it used to be, I am so pleased to be curating this debut zine, working with industry professionals, and writing for all of you!

A year ago, I did not know what I was doing; I was lost, confused, and, above all, stressed. Stress does not help us out at all. It causes difficulty breathing, panic attacks, and lack of sleep, and the one that everyone I know HATES is pimples. However, analyzing what’s causing this stress can help shape how you see, view, and value the world around you. I know I talk a lot about how we view the world, but in its entirety, you will become a better decision-maker, more self-aware, and more open to new ideas.

“In today’s rush, we all think too much, seek too much, want too much– and forget the joy of just being.”

Eckhart Tolle

I talk a lot about mindfulness now because I find it essential to be mindful of what you do, how you act, and how you interact with others. Mindfulness also affects how you do your work, how you value it, and what you can do to improve your work ethic and creativity.

I realize this newsletter lacks food content, and I plan to change that as we move on. I started this newsletter to talk about food and share what I enjoy doing with everyone. However, the more I write, the more I want to write something more significant than I could ever imagine. I know it comes with time, but it comes with courage, determination, and mindfulness.

This is a reminder that you can submit your entries here for the debut zine. We will share recipes. I aim to create a 20-30 page zine dedicated to our creative minds and how food connects us. We must recognize what food does for us, and I look forward to working with you!

Have an excellent rest of your week. I‘ll speak to you all soon.
