Did you see the new Bon Appetit cover?
+ what i've been thinking about recently
Good morning! ❤️
I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Happy Monday! For some, Mondays are the basis of our existence, but Mondays are perfect for starting the week off right! They are a way to get back in the swing of things, set weekly goals, and prepare for what’s to come! Have a fantastic Monday!
I also have a new schedule for this newsletter, and I think everyone will benefit from it. You will receive the food content you signed up for, as well as opinion pieces from me delivered straight to your mailbox.
Today’s letter includes Bon Appetit magazine. I don’t usually discuss other news outlets regarding food or other news outlets in general, but this issue felt very near and dear to my heart. Bon Appetit talks about relationships and how food creates connections. I love that Bon Appetit did this for their newest issue as we transition from the summer to fall. There is a more substantial surge of love that comes from everyone.

I also recently read Forbes’ article on this issue. I love what Jamila said about our connection to food and how we view it.
“If food is an act of love and connection, how do we create content that will speak to those audiences? We’re doing late summer produce but we’re looking at what our relationship is to late summer produce and then building recipes that speak to that.”
Food comes in all shapes, styles, and forms, and it is important to note how we perceive food and view it as it continues to shape our mindset and how we see one another and ourselves. Everyone has a relationship with food, whether we can confidently say we do or not. It’s important to note that it is there and is highly valued in everyone’s lives.
I am very excited about this issue and hope to pick it up in stores when it is released. Food lives in all of us; for some, it’s our love language and how we show others we care. Food is simply more than just food; it’s memories shared with friends and loved ones. It’s connecting with yourself, maybe on a surface level, but it could also be on a deeper level.
So, I will end this newsletter with these questions for you to consider: What does food mean to you? What is a favorite memory you have with food? What do you look forward to when you sit down and have breakfast, lunch, and dinner? Is it connecting with everyone? Or is it reconnecting with yourself?
You can submit your favorite recipes here for our debut paper zine, and feel free to drop any comments, questions, or concerns you may have below!
