Good morning! Happy Wednesday! I hope you’re having a wonderful week! Brodo sponsors this newsletter today, and I am pleased to welcome them to the Pass Me A Plate community! James Beard Award-winning chef Marco Canora always wanted to offer something from the tiny takeout window at Hearth, his famous restaurant in New York City’s East Village. It took 11 years, but the right idea eventually struck: delicious bone broth, served like coffee in a to-go cup. Feel free to check them out above or here:

It is so good to be in your inboxes again, and today, I will be sharing what I have loved cooking, eating, and dancing to in the kitchen! It is mindblowing how fast September has gone by, and I cannot believe craziness is already unfolding! Stay safe, be kind, and be considerate of those around you!

On that note, besides what I plan to share with you, there are a couple of things I have been thinking about per usual:

  • I want to open up a restaurant! There, I said it. 🙂 ⬇️

  • Pop-up location in Detroit…? I am currently seeking a venue to host a pop-up and would love for it to be in Detroit. If anyone knows of any places that would be willing to host, please feel free to contact me!

  • Pass Me A Plate Classifieds. Multiple people have reached out to me about employment, and unfortunately, I do not have the resources to form a team at the moment. Still, there is one thing I can do for you: create a CLASSIFIEDS where companies looking to hire people can submit their job needs. I can then put them into Google Sheets, where you can access and apply for jobs. I would love to help people find jobs! However, the goal in the future is to form a team where Pass Me A Plate can grow and flourish in the hospitality industry. Please let me know if you want to sponsor Pass Me A Plate or become an investor!

  • Fall is here, and I love it! Please let me know a recipe or dish you love to make in the fall! I have put aside the zine for now, but I would like to create a zine featuring everyone's favorite recipes! Please feel free to submit your recipe here if you are interested in being featured in Pass Me A Plates' debut zine!

Now, let’s dive into the fun stuff… Here are five things I have loved this September, both in and out of the kitchen!

  1. Siete Taco Seasoning. I love Siete; although they are a bit expensive compared to your Old El Paso and Ortega packs of taco seasoning, I think you get more bang for your buck with these packs. As much as I enjoy making up my own spices with those already on hand, it is so nice to pull them out of my pantry and use them immediately when needed.

  2.  Figment 3qt Ceramic Nonstick Sauce Pan I love this pan… for MANY reasons, mainly because it is so easy to whip up anything in. Recently, I have been making syrups for my coffees and boiling noodles in it, but it has so many uses, and it is so beautiful and so worth the price.

  3. Brioche bread. There isn’t much else I’ve got to say. I love brioche because it’s light and fluffy and because you can use it for so much, such as french toast, dipping bread, pudding, burgers, and hot dogs. It is a beautiful, all-around bread, and I believe it beautifully embodies the fall time.

  4. Baking. Although this isn’t a product or a singular item, it is a vast topic. I love baking in all its forms. The best thing I think you could do during the fall is baking. I have been on a baking KICK recently and have been testing out multiple items in the kitchen, such as cookies, breads, and cakes, and I have had such a blast trying these recipes and creating something that I am so happy to share.

  5. Hedley and Bennet Aprons. I love Hedley and Bennet for so many reasons, mainly because it is women-owned. The brand itself has so many great qualities, from its aprons to its kitchen tools, and I have loved creating with my Hedley and Bennet apron in the kitchen!

There you have it! There are five things I have loved both in and out of the kitchen! Although it might not seem like much, making things what you want is so important and makes a massive difference in how you see and use them!

Have an excellent rest of your week; I’ll check in soon!

Cheers,

Ariana :^)
