Small Bites of Joy
The Weekly Wow!
This week I had the pleasure of venturing to Venue Market to grab some new snacks, originally going there to get tins of FishWife. My partner and I had stopped to look at all the other goodies they had in stock. Venue Market, somewhat like Foxtrot, had a pretty decent selection. And for those who don’t know what a Foxtrot is, here is some information about what it is: Foxtrot is a beautifully made corner store that started in Washington, D.C., and is now making its way around the country. It has grabbed the attention of many locals, visitors, and those touring these certain cities. The one closest to us in Michigan is the one in Chicago; if you are ever out in Chicago, it is worth stopping and looking into a Foxtrot if you have the time.
We picked up two tins of Fishwife:

The first was Smoked Salmon with Sichuan Chili Crisp, which was phenomenal. We made a small tinned fishboard that was perfect to snack on as a small lunch.

The second one is this beautiful box of Smoked Rainbow Trout. It hasn’t been dug into yet, but I look forward to opening up this tin and digging in with a great spread!
Venue Market & Cafe carries many local brands and brands you wouldn’t typically find in your typical grocery store. Although it is a small market on the side of the restaurant, they have an excellent and affordable wine selection, tons of fantastic snacks to try, “Build Your Beer Kit,” and so much more! Not only did we have the pleasure of finding FishWife, but we found some fantastic soup dumplings!

Mila soup dumplings are great to snack on or eat with a meal. By the time this post is up, we have already enjoyed our first batch with beef, broccoli, and rice. However, if you purchase these dumplings, be warned that they are $40. You get 50 dumplings and steamer sheets, but it is worth it once you take a bite out of these dumplings.

Finally, we got a box of Date Better Dates! Not only are these dates vegan, but there are no preservatives, soy, fake sweeteners, dairy, palm oil, and no. Weird. Stuff. A true superfood! I enjoyed these today before heading out, and they’re fantastic. You can purchase these Dates and others like them for $36, two dates per box, so you’d get a quantity of 6. Not bad.
It is worth it to go and check out Venue Market & Cafe for some fantastic snacks and some great pastries, and it’s a great place to get some work done! Be sure to check out absolutely everything!
Things I love in my kitchen right now:

My “Sizzle” and “Drizzle” pair of olive oils I enjoy being able to cook with a great Sizzle oil; all olive oil tastes different, so it’s important to find an olive oil that works best for you and in your household that you can cook with! Graza’s “Drizzle” olive oil has notes of pepper and green grass. I find it perfect on my eggs in the morning, in a salad, or even in your soup! :)

My little box of Maldon salt is the perfect flaky salt to put on so many things! You can put it on your eggs, cookies, bread, meat, you name it! It’s a great way to add crunch to your bite, future bites, and so on! It's an excellent investment and a wonderful thing to keep around your home!
Okay! That’s all :)
