There's Food at Home

Good morning! Happy September! And happy Tuesday! ❤️

This newsletter is going to be short and sweet! As we continue to highlight Michigan’s excellent produce, it’s been on my to-do list every day to use and create something with the scraps leftover from previous dishes, and so far, I have been doing just that! It has been a pleasure to create and make things I am truly proud of these past couple of days!

I would also be more than willing to share these recipes with you down below as I continue to cook and hash out what could be better about them as well!

I hope you had a wonderful, fun, and safe weekend. The Detroit Jazz Festival has just ended, and it was a true blast. However, I am writing to you before the jazz fest and predicting how it will end. I will be leaving a follow-up here…

Beyond the jazz festival, I had much fun cooking this past week. As I continue to settle in, I have already made a ton of good food, and I think I will transition this newsletter to two days out of the week. However, I want to know your thoughts and whether I should continue three days out of the week or start with two to bring you the content you deserve.

I have had a blast creating new dishes to share this past week. Although they It's’t new to anybody, I had fun making things I’ve never made.

Peach upside-down cake.

This upside-down cake was so much fweek'smake and eat! It’s out of my comfort zone, but eating it was straightforward and comforting! I will share the recipe with you all in next week’s newsletter as I continue to hash out a good recipe, but I look forward to making this with other stonefruits as we wrap up the summer!

That same day, I also made a delicious and enjoyable crab roll. It is the perIt's time to enjoy a crab roll… Some of you are probably side-eyeing me right now, but hear me out! Pasta salad? A caesar salad? Arugula salad? It’s essentially the same thing except that you add protein! What do those things have in common? Salad at the end of their titles. There are many alternatives to crab if you want something similar! You can use tofu instead of crab and still make a delicious crab salad, as well as replace the mayo with vegan creme Fraiche or sour cream! Delicious! I will be more than happy to share that with you, too!

Crab roll!

Have a wonderful week! I look forward to hearing your input and seeing what your thoughts are!

Cheers,
