Uhm... Where Did You Go?
I Thought You Said You Were Back?

I mean it this time; I am.
First of all… Hi, how are you? Long time no see.
Every time I leave, I never have a plan to; it’s always the timing. For some reason, I struggle to find the right balance between posting, working, and school. Even though everything is going right in these three categories, I get very sidetracked. Nothing against you guys, of course, haha. Sometimes, I ride the struggle bus because I don’t feel I’m putting everything I can into these newsletters and won’t reach my goal. HOWEVER! I know that self-sabotaging won’t get me anywhere in life, and there is NO REASON to stop writing when everything is going fine, so it only makes sense for me to continue something I am passionate about.
I have been going back and forth with rebranding and what I want Pass Me A Plate to encompass; I love writing about food, but I realize I am not in the suitable capacity to go around and try every single new restaurant in and around the Metro Detroit Area because I do not have those credentials, I don’t want to write about food because I know there are so many topics relating to food and the culture that we live in. There is just something so special to reach a much wider audience that I love.
Currently, I am a reading and writing tutor for Eastern Michigan’s Upward Bound program, and I love connecting with those who feel the same way I did about high school at the time. During my training sessions, I learned about many people, their origins, and their goals. And it seems like we all have one goal we want to reach at the end of the day: connecting with someone, student, faculty, or parent.
Creating meaningful connections and networking with people opens the doors for so many new opportunities. The job market isn’t just about applying; it’s about who you know, how you know them, and how close you are to them. It’s essential to remember these factors when you talk with someone because there is no reason to knock someone’s experience just because you’ve had a much worse experience.
Even though this letter will be sent out on my third day, I will have already learned so much about myself, my goals in these next couple of years, and who I want to surround myself with. I want this to be more than just a food newsletter; I want it to be inspiring, uplifting, challenging, and informative because everyone lives a different life.
My goal for the end of this year is to reach at LEAST 50-70 subscribers. I’m almost there, BUT I want it to be done organically; tell your friends, family, cousins, uncles, aunts, dogs, cats, you name it, but I want to reach a wider audience and connect with everyone. I think there will be different themes each week. Yes, I will talk about food each week, but I want to pass you more; I want to fill your plate when you visit my newsletter.
Newsletters can be tedious, long, and exhausting to read by paragraph four or five. I don’t want this newsletter to be like that, so PLEASE let me know what I can do to make it more exciting and engaging for YOU and ME.
